Study places at the Central Library

Readers’ Seats
There are about 400 readers’ seats at the Central Library. These can be used by anyone and cannot be booked in advance. Special seats are reserved for researchers. In the reading room, there are about 60 seats, and there are also some seats in the student computer room. Readers’ seats in the periodicals reading room are primarily for the study of journals. There are further seats in the open stacks on floor 6.

Group Study Rooms for Students at Göteborg University
There are seven bookable group study rooms on floor 6. They are booked via the Internet with your library card up to a week in advance. The booking must be confirmed at the beginning of the booked session. There is a computer equipped with the Microsoft Office 2000 suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in each group study room. Printouts are directed to the printer in the student computer room.

Computer Work Stations
There are computers for searching scientific information in the catalogue room. 30 PCs for students affiliated to Göteborg University are placed in the student computer room on floor 6. The PCs are equipped with the Microsoft Office 2000 suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). PCs can be booked with your library card via the Internet up to a week in advance. The booking must be confirmed at the beginning of the booked session. One of the computers in the student computer room is equipped with a scanner and a CD-burner. There is also a computer available for the reading of the Library’s CD-ROMs and DVDs.
