Readers´Seats
There are about 120 readers’ seats in the Library, of which 16 are placed in the reading room for silent study on floor 4. The readers’ seats can be used by anyone and cannot be booked in advance.
Group Study Rooms for Students at Göteborg University
There are five group study rooms located on floor 4 and 3. There is a whiteboard, and a computer equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in each group study room. Printouts are directed to the printer on the same floor.The group study rooms are booked on the Internet with your library card up to a week in advance. The booking must be confirmed at the beginning of the booked session.
Computers
In addition to the group study rooms there are 26 computers on floors 5 and 4. They are to be used for searching scientific information and are equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Printouts are directed to the printer on the same floor. These computers are not booked in advance.
Reading Studio
On floor 3 there is a workspace designed and intended for students with reading impairments. The studio is equipped with printer, scanner, computer software, such as Supernova Screen reader and enlargement, and speech synthesis. Also, for the visually impaired, screen reader software JAWS and a braille printer.The Reading Studio is booked before hand and key is checked out at the information desk on floor 5.

Wireless network
All students can use GUWLAN (Göteborg University Wireless Local Area Network), the University’s wireless network at the University Library as well. To use the GUWLAN you need to activate your account on the Student Portal. This allows you to access an Internet connection using your laptop anywhere in the library. However, laptops are not allowed in the reading room for silent study.
