Electronic plant information centre

ePIC is a major resource discovery project to provide a single point of search across all Kew's major specimen, bibliographic and taxonomic databases on the Internet. In addition, we plan to add digital images and electronic documents into the available resources, and to develop links to external sites with complementary information. The web site will be developed through successive releases, with additional data and features being made available at each one. The main components of ePIC are the web site; software to enable the cross-database searching and provide ancillary services; hardware to store the data and support the web site; and the data itself.
