About the Bibsam Consortium
The Bibsam Consortium is made up of Swedish universities, university colleges, public authorities and state research institutes. The Bibsam Consortium’s combined purchasing power is a key lever for bringing about a transition from a subscription-based model for information provision to a model based on open access and the publication of scientific articles.
The Bibsam Consortium’s steering group
Morgan Palmqvist, Chief Librarian at the University of Gothenburg Library, is a member of the Bibsam Consortium’s steering group.
The steering group develops strategies for the procurement of licence agreements for access to e-journals, databases and e-books. This work is carried out with the aim of promoting an efficient supply of information by securing favourable licence agreements in terms of price, content and conditions that take into account the needs of all participating organisations in the Bibsam Consortium.
The steering group is mandated by the participating organisations to represent their interests and make strategic decisions regarding the procurement of e-resources.
