Published

Parts of the Humanities Library will move to Arkivgatan from 2028. As a result, the library’s archives of private individuals and associations containing letters and manuscripts, including the KvinnSam archives, will be inaccessible for research throughout 2028.

Our special collections will also be closed at occasionally, but only for short periods. Information about these closures will be available on the website soa.ub.gu.se.

Please contact KvinnSam or Special Collections and Archives if you have any questions regarding the archive closures.

Facts about archives and special collections

Our archives consist of manuscripts and archives from individuals and associations including letters, diaries and manuscripts. There are also collections of papyri from antiquity and medieval manuscripts written om parchment.

A special collection consists of materials that share a particular trait, such as a previous owner, a subject, a printer or a specific origin. Our special collections are often organised and placed separately, rather than being placed on the shelves with other literature.
