About the Swedish East India Company

The Swedish East India Company was active between 1731 and 1813. It had exclusive rights to trade with China and imported goods such as tea, silk and porcelain. Today, we still recognise the names of some of those who worked for the company, such as Sahlgren, Chalmers and Alströmer.
