Welcome as a new employee at the University of Gothenburg! This is a quick guide on how to use the library's collections and the services we offer you as an employee.

Our collections

The library's collections contain almost 3 000 000 printed volumes and more than 5 000 printed journals. You use your GU card as a library card to borrow printed material.

About borrowing from the library

The library's licenses also give you access to hundreds of databases, more than 23 000 e-journals and almost 2 500 000 e-books. You will find them in our search service Supersearch, where you can also search for most of the printed material purchased by the library after 1957.

Access to e-resources off-campus

As an employee at the University of Gothenburg, you can access databases, e-journals and e-books even when you are outside the university's network by logging in with your GU account.

Submit course literature lists to the library

The library purchases a number of printed copies of all course literature for the students and also supplements the printed book with an e-book if possible. To be able to do that, we need your help. You will be contacted by the library before the start of the course.

Teachers and course coordinators are welcome to contact the library to request instruction for their student group.
