Moving beyond Google Scholar

Tuesday 29 November, at 13:15 - 15:45
Zoom

Google Scholar used wisely may take you far. However, there is a bunch of other databases – more specialized in content and how they can be searched – available to you as a doctoral student for locating literature and material to support your research.

So why move beyond Google Scholar? Join this workshop to find out how different types of databases can help you identify new relevant studies and boost your research.

About the event

The Social Sciences Libraries offer a workshop for doctoral students who are starting up their literature review, writing their thesis plan or feel they need a run-through of how to search for information in various databases for research literature.

The workshop will make use of active learning techniques. Choose if you want to participate on campus or in Zoom (two different dates).

To facilitate active learning during the workshop, you will need to do some (limited) preparations before the workshop. You will get instructions after registration.

The workshop has a focus on disciplines at the Faculties of Education, IT, Social Science and the School of Business, Economics and Law.
