Reading retreat for students

Tuesday 25 March, at 09:00 - 12:00
Humanities Library, Seminar room 3

Finding the time and space for reading can be a challenge. By participating in a reading retreat you get the opportunity to read in a calm environment with other students, and the chance to learn how to sustain effective reading habits in your studies.

About the reading retreat

The purpose of a reading retreat is to get away from the distractions of everyday life to concentrate fully on your academic reading. A retreat leader from the Unit for Academic Language will guide you through a structured half day of individual reading and group reflections on the reading process.

Some recommendations if you are interested in participating:

  1. Plan a head what you want to read and for what purpose.
  2. Take a pen and paper or a computer with you for notes.
  3. Make sure that you can work uninterrupted and all the way to the end.
