The University Library's databases contain references to journal articles and other publications. The material are often in full text, available for you read online or download and print it.
Find databases in the database list
Databases available through Gothenburg University Library can be found in our database list. There you can search for database title, topic, or words that occur in the database's description.
The databases contain references to articles, doctoral theses, statistics and business facts. Some databases have full text articles that you can read online or download and print. In the database list, you can also find dictionaries, encyclopedias, sound recordings and other types of materials.
Finding relevant databases
The databases can be subject-specific or cover many fields. Each database has a description where you can read about the subjects covered by the database.
Databases within your subject area
To find one or more databases within your subject area, you can filter the database list by subjects, subject terms and types of material, or a combination of these.
In addition to subject specific databases, there are several large databases covering many disciplines. Filter the list by the subject Multidisciplinary to find these databases.
Students and staff at the University of Gothenburg can access the databases through the university network, or by logging in with the GU account when outside of campus. Everyone visiting the University Library can use our computers to access the databases.
To find databases that are available outside the University of Gothenburg's network, you can narrow the list of databases to show only freely accessible databases.
If we don't have the database you need
If you need a database that is not available at the University Library, you can suggest that we buy it. We will let you know if we can purchase the database, and when you may have access to it.
