Librarian's tip: e-book collections

13 October 2025

You can get an overview of books in your field by using our subject-specific e-book collections. A book collection mainly contains literature, but may also include films and other material that cannot be searched for in Supersearch.

The advantage of accessing a subject-specific e-book collection is that you can easily obtain a good overview of literature in your subject area. You may also discover books and other material that you did not know existed.

Browsing through the e-book collection can also be a good alternative to searching in Supersearch, as you get a shorter hit list that makes it easier to get an overview of the material.

Examples of e-book collections

The Springer ebook collection contains thousands of books in various subject areas, including medicine, geosciences, economics and psychology. The content covers the period from 2005 onwards.

LWW Health Library has two collections, Medical Education: Anatomical Sciences Collection and Physical Therapy, which contain books, videos and case studies in physiotherapy, sports and anatomy.

Finding the e-book collections is easy: visit the university library's home page and click on Databases and e-resources to the right of Supersearch. Select the subject area and material type ”e-books” in the menu on the left.
