The website is aimed at researchers, students and others interested in gender research and women's history. Here you can access useful resources such as the KVINNSAM database, the Nordic region's largest interdisciplinary reference database for Swedish and foreign gender research and women's history.

Thematic access to archive collections

The new website highlights KvinnSam's archive through thematic entrances. The archive is unique as the only women's and gender history archive in Sweden and contains 600 shelf metres of historical material from the suffrage struggle and women's struggle in the late 19th century through the 20th century to second-wave feminism and up to the present day. .

– There is great interest in our archive collections. With thematic approaches to the archives, such as the suffrage movement, religion or food and household studies, we hope that the archives can be made visible to more people and lead to more knowledge about the material, says Linda Börjesson, director of KvinnSam.

KvinnSam services and support

Since 2018, KvinnSam is a university-wide research infrastructure at the University of Gothenburg. The new web pages give examples of research projects in which KvinnSam is involved and describe how KvinnSam can provide support for the development and coordination of research projects linked to KvinnSam's collections.

– We hope that the new website will make it easier for you as a student or researcher and others interested in gender research and women's history to use KvinnSam's resources and services, says Linda Börjesson.
