It will soon be possible to free-text search the university library’s catalogue of materials published up to 1957
On 4 March, the library will update the scanned card catalogue Katalog –1957. It contains literature published up to 1957 and is available in an alphabetical and a subject-based version. In connection with the update, the alphabetical section will become searchable in free-text.
The catalogue has been updated with images of typewritten cards that have been interpreted using AI tools, meaning that the entire contents of the catalogue can now be searched.
The update does not involve any major changes in functionality, but will make it easier to search for and find content. It will still be possible to browse through the images or search by image number.
Updating the catalogue is part of a larger project aimed at increasing the searchability and accessibility of the library's older collections. The material will gradually be made searchable in 2026 in the library's regular digital search system, Supersök, and in the national catalogue, Libris.
