The Biomedical, Humanities and Social Sciences Library are open weekdays 12:00–16:00. Study environments are closed. We are now strengthening the University Library's remote services for students, teachers and researchers. Read more about the changes.
Using the wifi at the libraries
Students and employees can use the University wifi, wireless network, on the University Library premises. There is no open wifi available to the general public.
Wifi for students and employees
Students and employees can use the University wifi, wireless network, on the Library premises. When connected to the University wifi you automatically get access to the Library's databases, e-journals and e-books.
Networks: Eduroam and GoteborgsUniversitet
The University wifi is available as two alternatives: eduroam (encrypted) and GoteborgsUniversitet (without encryption). There is information in the University's portals on how you connect to both alternatives if you are a student or an employee.
Eduroam if you are affiliated to another university
Many universities in Sweden and abroad use eduroam to give each other's users access to their wireless networks. If your university uses eduroam you can connect to it when visiting the Gothenburg University Library. Contact your university to learn how to use eduroam.
Members of the public can use the Library computers
The University's wifi is not open to the general public. Therefore you cannot connect your computer to the wireless network when visiting the University Library. You can instead use the Library computers to access internet and the Library's databases, e-journals and e-books.
