The Library offers instruction in information searching skills for doctoral student groups at the University of Gothenburg. Teachers and directors for doctoral studies are welcome to contact us to request instruction for their student group.

Session contents

The content of the sessions may vary, but the purpose of the library instruction is always to support the doctoral students' research process. We are happy to plan the session contents to suit the needs of your students.

Information searching and scholarly communication

Our sessions in information searching skills and scholarly communication often contain exercises about

  • search strategies and search technique
  • subject specific databases and citation databases
  • publication patterns within the subject field
  • open access and publication strategies.

Managing references with Endnote

The University of Gothenburg has license to the reference management software Endnote. Our sessions about Endnote contain hands-on exercises about how the doctoral students can:

  • create their own references and fetch references from databases
  • work with references in Endnote and Word
  • create bibliographies according to different citation styles
  • share their Endnote library to collaborate with others.

Classroom locations

The libraries have their own classrooms. If any of your students need help getting in and finding the right classroom, they are welcome to contact the Library before they arrive.
