Inter Library Loans

Books and articles not available at Gothenburg University Library may be ordered as Inter Library Loans from other libraries.

Order via LIBRIS:

How?
Use the order form in LIBRIS or one of the web forms available at the Libraries. You will be notified when the book arrives. Make sure that the book is not available at Gothenburg University Library. Search the library catalogue GUNDA, or, for older items, the scanned card catalogues.

Charges
Loans within the Scandinavian countries are free of charge, while loans outside Scandinavia are subject to a charge. Copies are always charged.

Delivery Time and Loan Periods
Allow for a delivery time of about two weeks for an interlibrary loan. Requested items can be on loan and the time of delivery varies. The delivery time of a journal article is usually shorter than the time required for other library items. On ordering copies you can indicate whether or not a fast delivery is required. Prices for alternative modes of delivery are indicated in the price list. For interlibrary loans you always have to consider the regulations of the library which holds the books concerned. The length of loan might, therefore, vary.

What may not be borrowed via Inter Library Loan?
Most material may be obtained as Inter Library Loan or as a photocopy. However, there are some exceptions: Textbooks and reference copies are not for interlibrary loan, entire journal issues, library material on loan at Gothenburg University Library, material owned by the City Library or Chalmers Library cannot be substituted by an interlibrary loan. Sound and video recordings are to be ordered either directly from Statens ljud- och bildarkiv (the Swedish National Archive of Recorded Sound and Moving Image), Stockholm.
